Margaret Burke Tarab has been representing the mortgage default servicing industry since 1996 when she was admitted as an attorney in New York State. Margaret has several years of experience managing all aspects of default legal operations. Margaret practices in the areas of mortgage litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, REO transactions and evictions, and has also worked extensively with various servicers on loss mitigation efforts. Margaret’s litigation experience includes representing major lending institutions in the prosecution of foreclosure cases and litigation brought against lenders by borrowers as well as title resolution. Margaret has written several articles for various industry trade publications. Additionally, Margaret has conducted on-site training for several servicers, providing an overview of New York’s foreclosure process as well as legislative updates and has participated in many panels at industry conferences.
Margaret received her Bachelor of Arts degree as an English major and Political Science minor from Adelphi University where she graduated cum laude. Margaret received her Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law where she frequently made the Dean’s list. In addition to her New York State Bar admission, Margaret is admitted to the United States Supreme Court and to the Eastern and Southern District Courts of New York.
